Does anyone know why we're suppressing warnings for this package? It's nice, but we don't do it anywhere else in the book. And the -O2 overrides the default CFLAGS used in the package, something we don't do anywhere else either.

I did the warning suppression. configure's default CFLAGS in the package in the book is CFLAGS="-g -O2" I was just doing a touchup for sloppy programming that was bugging me. I thought there was some educational content there too.
I have done this for at least one other package. See the sed in OpenSSL. Its not a requirement for an editor to do this type of thing, but I think its a nice touch when the fix is relatively obvious and easy.

I built the package after I wrote that bit above. Wow, are there a lot of compiler warnings. It's hard to even find the actual commands in the output. I'll leave it alone, nothing bad can come of it.
Current version is 2.1pre23.
