Description
Kdenlive requires Git to download OpenTimelineIO via Git if it is not found on the system. This requires an internet connection, and the configuration process does not give status updates of what's happening, nor the fact that it even is pulling it from the internet.
This package is useful for other video editors, and would solve the internet connection issue. However, this would be another added package, plus a couple others, like another Python module/dependency, and Imath.
Another solution is to download a tarball of OTIO, and all of its submodules, and put them in place. I do this all the time in GLFS and SLFS. The end results are always ugly and I don't recommend going that route.
Thus, I believe OpenTimeIO would be a good addition and I'd be willing to add this in myself and help maintain it.
We have git as a required dependency for kdenlive and the use of it pulls a specific version of the files needed for OpenTimelineIO. Adding several pages adds to the maintenance version of BLFS even after the pages are added so I'm closing this as wontfix.
