The NEWS file in the gtk-4.22.0 are extensive (almost 1000 lines. See that file for details. This minor release is the culmination of many intermediate releases: 4.21.{0,1,2,3,4,5,6}

By far, most of the changes are bug fixes, but the following seem to be significant:

  • The Wayland backend relies on the portal for settings
  • GLib 2.84 is required now
