Version 9.0.0 What's Changed This is a major new release with several important improvements: - C++17 is now required. Users who need to stay on C++11 or C++14 should continue using the 8.x series (we will continue to provide patches for it as needed). - No C++ standard library required at runtime (optional). Thanks to excellent work by @mitchellh, you can now compile simdutf in a freestanding mode that does not depend on the C++ standard library. See the README for configuration details. - fastbase64 command-line tool significantly upgraded. It is now a fast drop-in replacement for the standard base64 utility. On large inputs, it can be several times faster than common alternatives. - New compile-time base64 literal. You can now conveniently declare base64-encoded arrays directly in code using the _base64 suffix: auto data = "SGVsbG8gd29ybGQ="_base64; // decoded at compile time into a byte array - Base64 API extended. We have added base64_to_binary_details to provide more detailed decoding information. Details - Increase fuzzing test coverage by @anonrig in #948 - fix some ppc64 problems by @pauldreik in #952 - Better fastbase64 + man pages by @lemire in #947 - allow end user to have base64 literals by @lemire in #956 - extends our base64 public API by @lemire in #955 - reduce the size of our tools by @lemire in #958 - arm kernel should not define SIMDUTF_SIMD_HAS_BYTEMASK by @lemire in #960 - simpler approach to removing the C++ lib dependency at runtime by @lemire in #962Full Changelog: v8.2.0...v9.0.0
