Overview of Changes from GIMP 3.2.6 to GIMP 3.2.8
=================================================

Core:

  - hicolor/ folder is not mandatory anymore for icon themes.
  - Implementation to simulate cross-process transient windows on macOS
now uses the NotificationCenter API instead of the Accessibility one
which was too pervasive (repeatedly asking permission).
  - Add DPI information when copying image to clipboard when compiled
    with gdk-pixbuf 2.36 with backend supporting "x-dpi" and "y-dpi"
settings (which unfortunately right now means disabling glycin until
    it gets support).
  - Dashboard now use WorkingSetSize for memory usage on Windows, which
    is more accurate.
  - Dot to Dot support should now work better even on integer scaling.
  - Allow canceling font loading in the middle when quitting GIMP early.
  - Offset is allowed again as a non-destructive filter (it was
    disallowed on loading by mistake).

Tools:

  - Text tool: improved support of RTL languages.
    * The arrow keys should now behave correctly in RTL and with LTR
      text mixed in RTL text.
    * New RTL and LTR direction icons are shown on the tool's on-canvas
      UI.
    * Until you manually choose one of RTL or LTR directions, the tool
will automatically detect the base direction of entered text,
      using the "Unicode Bidirectional Algorithm".

Graphical User Interface:

  - Store the localized path of menu models to show action's paths
properly localized in the Action Search.
  - System theme leaks fixed.
  - Various Windows and macOS-specific windowing and color scheme bugs
    fixed.
  - GIMP now respects the macOS setting to differentiate the ON/OFF
    state of switches without colors.
  - Improved dialogs' initial positioning.
  - When updating the file linked by a link layer in the "Layer
Attributes" dialog, do not allow to click OK or to select another
file while the new image is being loaded. Canceling the dialog
    remains possible though.
  - The slow display of the Preferences dialog got sped up
    significantly.

Plug-Ins:

  - Script-Fu "Add Border" (script-fu-addborder) script will now take
into account the alpha of the color given in argument for the fill
    opacity of the border.
  - ICO/CUR: sort icons on load using the same algorithm as is used on
    export (cf. 3.2.6 notes).
  - Screenshot: workaround Magnification API on HDR displays
  - Print:
    * Page Setup is not stuck to the default printer anymore on
      Windows.
    * Work around Windows 11's UnifiedPrintDialog.
  - Better error handling added in several plug-ins.
  - Various security bugs fixed.
  - IFF:
    * Ported from libiff/libilbm to internal code (the external libs
were no longer maintained) though this updated plug-in is currently
      not built in this branch.
    * Support for RGBN/RGB8 variants added with the new custom code.

API:

  - libgimp:
    * gimp_procedure_add_menu_path() can now add submenus to named
subsections (and not only the action itself).
    * Deprecate gimp_plug_in_add_menu_branch() in favor of
      gimp_procedure_add_menu_path().
  - libgimpwidgets:
    * The macOS implementation of GimpPickButton was improved by using
      ScreenCaptureKit.

Utilities:

  - gimp-debug-tool (the tool which pops up when GIMP crashes) is now
    properly localized and themed.

Build:

  - Add support to localizing plugins on GIMP SDK for macOS.
  - GIMP page on MS Store is now localized.
  - New GUI unit testing infrastructure added.
  - The XPM plug-in is not built on our official Windows builds anymore.
