Please ensure that any BLFS package that uses Ant doesn't break from this update.

Yes, good point for sure. The only packages directly referencing to Ant as a dependency are fop, freetts and OpenOffice. At least fop compiles (and works rendering the book) fine. FreeTTS does compile fine with new Ant. I assume that OO will do too.

The download URL still points to Anduin and is broken. Please don't close this ticket until this gets fixed.

I added ant to the osu repository earlier today and it is on anduin now in conglomeration. The only issue is that I haven't figured out how to automate making the symlinks from svn/?/<package> to conglomeration.

Well in that case we should use the apache.org download location as the primary and use Anduin as a backup. One using HTTP and the other FTP.

If at all possible, I like to reference the maintainer's site before Anduin.

Is this just for Ant or is this more a general guideline to have the backup link to Anduin? There are several packages where the second (ftp) link is empty.

Anduin is typically only used if the maintainer's site doesn't have the version of the package the book calls for. It is the last recourse backup if all else fails.

So, try to use the maintainer's site URL if you can. That's all I'm trying to say.

If the second (FTP) link is empty that is fine and good as long as the HTTP link works and is reliable. But for Ant, the only download URL is Anduin, and this is what we want to avoid if we can.
