Description

I found out two issues with the repos:

  1. The gentoo mirror we are using (ftp.linux.es, I think) has some issues, like: two destdir dirs, and some packages not downloading at all. I would use ftp.osuosl.org/pub/gentoo/destdir, because it does not have those issues.
  1. (pr)downloads.sourceforge.net picks a SF mirror at random, usaly, the not-superb "Superb" Hosting mirror. I would use internap.dl.sourceforge.net, because, it's just faster than "Superb" hosting, and it's more superb too.

I have fixed those with the attached patch.

The Gentoo URL you give does not appear to work and the one in the book is very fast. Additionally the Sourceforge link seems to be reliable to me.

Closing the ticket. If there appears to be issues after this, we can reopen.
