Description ¶
Hi,
I note that back in 2006 the Usenet reader slrn was dropped from the book in part because of a number of bugs and deficiencies and in part because it was no longer under active development. See the thread:
http://www.mail-archive.com/blfs-dev@linuxfromscratch.org/msg04718.html
However this has changed over the last year or so and John E Davis has returned to slrn, addressed all of these issues and released a new version on September 27th, 2008. Development continues on slrn through its svn repository.
The slrn website has been rewritten and incorporates much of this detail:
and the future is looking very promising again for slrn. Given all of these developments can slrn be returned to the book next to tin?
Thanks for your trouble,
Andrew Strong
