Description
Users with an ATI Radeon video card should have the option of using this driver and may not be aware of its existence.

Unfortunately, it is not a part of the 'official' distribution. Current policy is only exceptions for items needed for other BLFS packages, or for testing the build (twm). This is the perfect type of item to add to the wiki.

Update: After working with the latest Mesa7.7 and DRM it seems that this package is going to be depreciated and included with the ATI xf86 driver. ATM they are two forks with radeonhd supporting HDMI but at same time ATI xf86 driver is slotted to support HDMI. Including radeonhd driver can be useful till the ATI driver catches up.
