Description ¶
This should probably be a wiki entry but I don't have rights to edit it.
If you see "Use of the `network' resource not enabled" during the Python test suite. You can enable these tests by following these instructions: http://techlists.org/archives/programming/pythonlist/2002-01/msg00563.shtml.
Once you do that though, you will get a failure with test_ssl that should be ignored. The test has been fixed upstream, see http://bugs.python.org/issue8322.

Version 2.7 of Python exhibits the same thing, but I'm not sure it really matters. The solution provided earlier in this ticket is almost 10 years old, and Python has done nothing.
Is it really something we need to worry about, because a test is skipped?
It has nothing to do with OpenSSL-1.0.0. I say this ticket should probably be closed as "too old of an issue to worry about".
