Version increment to 1.0

I don't think it is ready for prime time yet. The JUnit tests hang with errors about TTF font problems. Omitting JUnit in the CLASSPATH results in a clean build, but I don't trust it.

I may have been to hasty to determine that the new version is not stable as I ran the JUnit tests from a non-GL enabled X window on my PC and not from the console as is recommended. I will try again from the console.
