See http://bugs.xfree86.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94; download patch http://bugs.xfree86.org/attachment.cgi?id=31&action=view (gives you a file named "radeon-reset-nolockup.diff"); before installing XFree86-4.3.0, from the top level of the XFree86-4.3.0 source tree directory apply the patch: "patch -Np0 -i radeon-reset-nolockup.diff".
