It's not required to build release tarball. I checked it again. You can remove it from deps.

I'm not sure how to handle this. There is a python script, iso2pot.py, that converts an xml file to a .pot file. The .pot files are, in turn used to generate .po files. As the package is distributed, all the .po files are up to date and the python script is never called. None of the xml, .pot, and .po files or the python script are installed. The only installed files are .mo files that are generated from the .po files via msgfmt.
I'm inclined to just remove the Python dependency.
