I built Firefox 15 following the current book's instructions without problems. I used the included xulrunner.

Firefox/Xulrunner 15.0 built as previous respective versions. No need of ac_add_options --disable-elf-hack. Perhaps depends on versions of packages in tool-chain? I have done in LFS 7.1, 7.0, 6.8, 6.7, 6.5.
[I've not been able do keep uptodate with LFS/BLFS. Hope to be back soon.]

Just finished a user install of 15.0 xulrunner and firefox on LFS-7.2 (in a scratch user-owned directory), using the current instructions with an extended prefix in front of /usr, without disabling the elf hack, and managed to run it from where I had installed it.
The elf-hack gets mentioned a lot on google. Recent reports are mainly from arch users with glibc-2.16.0, but according to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=771569 it was seen with both 14.0b10 which I assume predates 14.0, and 15.0a2, and was fixed in July. I don't think the book needs to disable the elf hack.

Just to be precise, my latest system ("7.1"):
$ cat /etc/release SVN-20120311
$ ldd --version ldd (GNU libc) 2.14.1
Armin, which ones are you using?

My LFS is 7.2 (built when it hit rc1) with glibc 2.16.0. I did need to use the elf hack or Firefox build (not Xulrunner) failed at make install. I don't use installer method or such.

I've built it today, but way different from book's instructions. I built it on top of Xulrunner and I found out that symlinks for xpcshell and run-mozilla.sh are still necesary. Also, there is some elf-hack introduced which causes firefox build to fail if building on top of system Xulrunner. ac_add_options --disable-elf-hack makes it build again.
