Very unusual. It seems like a careless release process. You have to look at the change logs though to see what happened.

Bruce, it seems it was a bad coincidence. At 07:11 they released.

At 09:58 a bug was reported and about one hour later, resolved, and Todd C Miller seems to have considered a very important bug.

Bug 630 - check_ttyname: FAIL none (sudo) vs. /dev/console (libc)
