Bruce,

You know I cannot test this one, no hardware for that, but I usually build it.

Had to install libevdev-1.2.1, after configure complained.

http://www.freedesktop.org/software/libevdev/libevdev-1.2.1.tar.xz

CMMI (--disable-static)

Seems to be working:

$ synclient -V
1.8.0

libevdev requires python. Optional: check, doxygen, valgrind.

It's probably easiest to combine with xf86-input-synaptics like libva's libva-intel-driver.

Yes.

But I removed all X11 directories and am starting again. For many versions of LFS I did not have a xorg that did not want to start, Will build with the last versions of packages that worked for me for the hybrid system.

Telling that because I don't know if it is this libevdev or anything else that has gone wrong.

Now I am in the position of comment:2: libevdev-1.2.1 and xf86-input-synaptics-1.8.0 installed, other older versions of Xorg packages replace by the one in the book or newer if in the tickets.

X is working "perfectly".

Again, sorry (everybody) for the noise. As written in dev, it was my mistake starting X, nothing to do with the package's versions installed or book's instructions.
