Description (last modified by )
Eudev was indeed installed in LFS and there is no reason to reinstall it unless the user is going to install a package such as UPower. This installation of Eudev enables extra features which includes gudev, a requirement for UPower and optionally used by other packages.
Unlike any other package in the BLFS book, there is must be no set version of Eudev specified to download. Several version updates to LFS and none to BLFS means there are probably many different versions of Eudev on the platforms that BLFS is being built upon. Therefore, users should download and use the version of Eudev their computer currently uses. With few exceptions, most not even reproduced, the BLFS team has no experience updating (or reverting to an older version) the Eudev package “on the fly”.
The page must be modified to reflect this which is the point of view of the great majority of past and present editors.

I have not touched any of the two previous edits in this page.
I admit that the page could be modified, for BLFS-7.6, with versioning not only in the download, but also in the title: "Udev Extras (from eudev-version)".
Fixed at r13220.
