I am very worried about this boost: 

$ du -sh boost*.bz2
91M	boost_1_56_0.tar.bz2
59M	boost_1_57_0.tar.bz2

About half the size.

On thing that I have previously noticed with boost is that if you upgrade without removing the older version, it only installs about half the files: 

$ porg -F boost-1.57.0; paco -F boost-1.56.0
5674  boost-1.57.0
10416 boost-1.56.0

After removing boost-1.57.0, then removing boost-1.56.0 and reinstalling boost-1.57.0: 

$ porg -F boost-1.57.0; paco -F boost-1.56.0
10519  boost-1.57.0

Would it be worth mentioning that in the book?
