New upstream release for some of the packages in current BLFS. Given that KDE SC releases aren't happening anymore, they decided to maintain the apps for the time being. Some of the apps listed there are KDE Frameworks based, and as such not suitable for updating in current BLFS dev. Such apps include Konsole, Kate and GWenview, according to their release announcement. Rest of the packages appears to be kdelibs4 based. The PIM suite is not included, but also according to the release announcement, it seems it's a long term release that will receive updates in 4.14.x branch.

Release notes point out which apps are KF5 based at the moment. The rest is an update to the 4.14.x series of the Qt4/kdelibs4 apps.

By release notes do you mean the php page in the announce page in the description? I couldn't find anything else.
In any case, it's really confusing to have some packages labelled 14.12.0 be for two different installation libraries (KF5 and KDE4).

Yes, the announcement is linked in the description. You could just upgrade the packages that have new version and are KDE4 based, while leaving old (current) versions of packages that have been ported to Qt5/KF5.

I plan on doing this, but not until after LFS-7.7-rc1. If someone else wants to do it, then go ahead.
As a note, I looked at one package (don't remember which), that had *no* changes in version control since last March, but did have the newly tagged number. This just creates work for us, but no benefits for users.

I have updated KDE core and still need to do KDE additional packages.
Upstream has not done us any favors with their packaging. They are spread out in several directories. Most are in http://download.kde.org/stable/applications/14.12.2/src/, but even there, some of the packages are not numbered 14.12.2. we have:
kde-workspace-4.11.16.tar.xz kdelibs-4.14.5.tar.xz kdepim-4.14.5.tar.xz kdepim-runtime-4.14.5.tar.xz kdepimlibs-4.14.5.tar.xz
We also have needed files in http://download.kde.org/stable/4.14.3/src:
kfilemetadata-4.14.3.tar.xz baloo-4.14.3.tar.xz baloo-widgets-4.14.3.tar.xz kactivities-4.13.3.tar.xz kdeplasma-addons-4.14.3.tar.xz
Trying to do this upgrade during a release is driving me crazy. I needed to do about 50 dependencies just to finish KDE core.
I should be done with kde tomorrow.

Finished updating to KDE Applications 14.12.2 at revision 15563.
I'm not sure how to approach this. There is a mix of apps that are for kde5 and kde4. I tried the konsole release wth kde4 and it wanted
I know that the description above says that konsole is Frameworks based but having to test what is for kde5 and kde4 with test builds does not seem to be reasonable.
Perhaps we should just skip these until we add kde5 to trunk. My thought right now is to work on kde5 after lfs-7.7 in early March.
