I`m sorry, but dont you think its better to tell about install.cfg in the book? I spend a lot of time ti find out the reason why "make install" doesnt work as expected.

The dependency on an mta is optional. The install.cfg file can be modified before installatiotion to use a smtp server. cron is also not required.
