I'll take this. It took me a while to get it working though. I hadn't used nfs since version 1.2.8 and this will require a change to the boot scripts. In both nfs-client and nfs-server we have the line:

start_daemon /usr/sbin/rpc.statd

This hangs. I found that buried in the docs that we need ot add --no-notify to the line if rpc.nfsd is not already running.

It does work however and I'll update tomorrow.
