Description ¶
Current LFS books (CVS and newxml) do not configure the system with a "nobody" user defined in /etc/passwd. The BLFS instructions for Postfix include addition of this user, but the instructions for nfs-utils do not. Postfix is in chapter 21, though, three chapters after nfs-utils.
However, the nfs-utils Makefile wants to change ownership of some directories under /var/lib to nobody, and installation fails because this user does not exist. Either the useradd for "nobody" needs to be added to the nfs-utils instructions, or maybe a separate page in the "After LFS Configuration" section could take care of it.
