Description ¶
- Logs do not go to /var/log, but to $HOME/.local/share/xorg
- Being member of the "video" group is not needed for DRI (to be verified, maybe)
- Maybe other things that I have not discovered yet.

Actually, being member of the video group is not required even for Sys V... Xorg and/or udev (or mesa?) seem to use acl's to allow access to /dev/dri/card0...

OK, took a while to figure out: it is ConsoleKit, which adds any user logging into the system to the user acl of /dev/dri/card* (and other files). So I guess being a member of the video group is still required if ConsoleKit is not installed.
Under systemd, it is sytemd which does the same trick, so that it is never needed to be in the video group.

Not on that page, but on mesa: why is it that wayland is not added to the egl platforms in the systemd book?
