Description ¶
CUPS (verified for cups-1.1.20 and cups-1.1.21) uses HTMLDOC <URL:http://easysw.com/htmldoc/> for converting the test output to HTML and PDF. It's not a real problem for a use who is not a complete newbie to read the source instead; nevertheless I vote for adding HTMLDOC as a recommended, not as an optional dependency (but only for the users who want to run the testsuite).

I cannot agree with Nico's suggestion to add HTMLDOC as a dependency. I'm leaving the bug open, so other editor's can make the final decision, but I found no need for the software. There's a .shtml file created in the test directory that contains all the test result information and is easily viewed using Lynx. I'm sure other browsers work as well.
HTMLDOC is *not* free software, as far as I'm concerned it's not needed and shouldn't be recommended as a required dependency. It *could* be listed as an optional dependency, but the fact that you have to *buy* it, simply to do something that isn't really necessary, make me wonder.

I agree with Randy. A non-open source dependency is not appropriate for BLFS, especialy if there is a way to work around it.
