chapter08/reboot.xml
r908631a r9ef3d9c 4 4 <para> 5 5 Now that all software has been installed, bootscripts have been created, 6 it's time to reboot the computer. The system is shutdown with 7 shutdown -r now and rebooted into LFS. After the reboot a normal 8 login prompt like on the normal Linux system comes up (unless XDM or 9 some sort of other Display Manger is used (like KDM - KDE's version of XDM)). 6 it's time to reboot the computer. Run a command like 7 <userinput>/sbin/shutdown -r now</userinput> or 8 <userinput>/sbin/reboot</userinput> to reboot your system and at the 9 LILO: prompt make sure that you tell it to boot 10 <emphasis>lfs</emphasis>. 10 11 </para> 11 12 12 13 <para> 13 One thing remains to be done and that's setting up networking. After having 14 rebooted and finished the next chapter of this book the LFS system is 15 ready for use and can be used to do with it whatever is wanted. 14 During the first boot you will get a few errors from syslogd and klogd. 15 These errors occur because we haven't setup networking yet. That will 16 be taken care of in the next chapter. So don't worry about those errors 17 for now. 18 </para> 19 20 <para> 21 As just stated, one thing remains to be done and that's setting up 22 networking. After having rebooted and finished the next chapter of this 23 book the LFS system is completely ready for use, and you can start 24 adding your own software. 16 25 </para> 17 26
