set umask to 022 somewhere

Description
some systems have a umask of 002 (like some rh's) which will create directories with mode 775 instead of the mentioned 755 in chapter 4.
We may want to point out that you should check the umask and set it to 022 if that's not the case yet.

I've added this but instead of putting it under "Mounting a New Partition" (which I reckon some people are likely to skip, just doing it themselves), I've put it on the next page - "Creating directories" It's just a short addition at the top of the page but it seems like the most logical place

what about putting the command in chapter 4 under Mounting the New Partition. We export LFS here and so it would seem a fairly sane place to put it.
