Glibc-linuxthreads-2.2.4 does not compile with -march=i686. If it is reproduceable, please note in LFS book.

The general rule is: if something doesn't work with optimization enabled, then disable it and try again. It may be reproducable for some people, it is highly dependant on your hardware (ie; running an Intel or AMD) and other issues.
The thing is, if we add this not to Glibc, we have to add it to every single package installation. Not something that in my opinion should be done.
