Description
My installation log for the Module-Init-Tools package shows that the genksyms, insmod_ksymoops_clean, kallsyms, kernelversion, and ksyms programs (links) are not installed.
I'm not sure if I have a bad installation, or the listed programs are obsolete.
Additionally, there is a insmod.static program installed which is not listed.

A statically version of insmod
My concern is that it isn't very descriptive. The "Notes on static linking" section (which would explain it) was commented out during the fix for bug 1061. Those notes included 4 paragraphs. Only the last paragraph dealt specifically with the deprecated method of building pass1 of binutils and gcc statically so the other 3 paragraphs *could* be readded but would still seem a bit out of place.
