Description
"A known issue with the uname program from this package is that the -p switch always returns unknown. The following patch fixes this behavior for Intel architectures"
Add to this:
"Do not apply this patch for non-Intel machines."
I'm building an LFS distro for an embedded PowerPC system. I blindly applied the patch and got a compilation error.

This patch is removed in the cross-lfs book, which is the replacement for the multi-architecture book. Until recently LFS has been a x86 only, in the last 6 months we just started to support different architectures. Yes in the past people have had success, but with modifications ot the book. Marking this bug as not fixed.
