Description
Upstream have several patches at http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/bash/bash-3.1-patches/ that fix a number of bugs since bash-3.1 was originally released. These should be rolled up into a single LFS-patches conformant patch and added to the instructions in both chapter 5 and 6.

Summary: | bash-3.1.007 → bash-3.1.008 |
---|
A new patch, 008, was released today. Looks like a -3 patch is on the cards. I'm not sure we can guarantee folks won't run into the problems these patches fix whilst in the chroot environment. However, patch 001 touches parse.y which means the host would need bison if we were to put them in chapter 5 (or we'd need to put bison into chapter 5 before bash).
Patches created and put into patches project as -2. Patches are not needed for Chapter 5 build.
