Dear Randy,
If you have read my ticket carefully then you would have discovered that I have mentioned nothing about any book failure. The ticket was no criticism and marked as ENHANCEMENT.
Please understand that I am trying to install this LFS system from scratch. It is a lot of work but I do expect good results (currently using Gentoo and not completely happy with it).
After my (first) failure of looking over an important line in the book, I am indeed more careful.
I say it is a damn GOOD book, and I do know some of linux, but not as much as you kind a people.
I also say, it is a valid ticket for people who are not 1000% perfect.
The penalty for me being not that 1000% perfect was ... ... spending 2 more hours on troubleshooting and rebuilding.
Still and again, I do stress this is my own im-perfectness and I will definitely improve, but after a few hours of reading carefully and doing a manual installation on my gentoo system, I guess anyone would loose a few percent of that perfectness. I feel that, it could have been prevented and some people must agree on this, because all other important sections are VERY WELL MARKED.

That is a valid question, and the valid answer is: IT IS SPECIAL !
!! THE PART WHERE ONE IS ASKED NOT TO REMOVE THOSE DIRECTORIES IS CLEARLY MARKED !!
Please remove that mark also, and lots of people could then be marked by you as not reading the book carefully.
Again: the book is awfully good, but I do feel that my ticket was thrown away pretty fast.
By the way, I have already solved my problem, so my effort of writing ticket 1703 was just on behalf of other people who might want to go for LFS.
Obviously you did see my point.
I kindly ask to consider re-opening ticket 1703, on behalf of possible LFS users and an even more perfect book.

Closing this as a duplicate. The existing ticket is still open.
FYI - I don't have any authority, say-so, or otherwise any input into what is done with the LFS book. I simply offered my *opinion* on the bug as I believe I am entitled to an opinion.
