Description
Boot logging was removed from the bootscripts some time ago. No need for the local2 service in /etc/syslog.conf anymore.

loose ends following the removal of text wrapping and boot logging in functions. boot_log() does nothing, well 'echo -n ""', as it should. It's left in so that old scripts don't break with the new functions file. This policy was decided a long time ago (compatible for two releases). The boot_log lines should be removed from the the udev script. There is also one instance of it in rc that should be removed.

Assigning this to archaic, seeing's how he's already volunteered. ;)
Trunk currently claims to be using lfs-bootscripts-20051223.tar.bz2. This version of the boot scripts still uses the boot_log function. So does lfs-bootscripts-20060315.tar.bz2. Should the book be using the later snapshot of the bootscripts? And what is the purpose for boot_log as opposed to boot_mesg if not for the now removed logging?
Once I get a better idea of what is going on, I will update the bootscript entity, edit syslog.conf, and remove the text and command about moving logger to /bin all as part of one commit.
