Description
In Linux From Scratch - Version udev_update-20060311 6.59. Udev-087 the /sbin/udevstart was not installed =>
- last command failed /sbin/udevstart
- system (with SCSI disk in my case) can not boot later (critical - boot not posible)
- not mentioned in short description (minor)
Workarround is to do
/usr/bin/install -c udevstart /sbin/udevstart
In Linux From Scratch - Version udev_update-20060330 6.59. Udev-088 is the same situation. Only last command (instruction) to run /sbin/udevstart was deleted => the surprise come later during boot.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
udevstart will not be used with udev versions >= 087. udev_update book has had the instruction removed to run udevstart. Bootscripts have adopted udevd. Closing bug.
