That was a long time ago. They were going to be removed that last note I saw on it.

Thanks Jim. I'm not going to trawl through 2 years of mailing list archives to find that note, so I've just assumed it's fine to remove them in r7779. Thanks for the report, Peter.

This was introduced in r3910 when net-tools was replaced by iproute2. I'm not confident that that part of the patch was actually correct though, as resolv.conf is used by glibc, so I doubt the format of the file should have changed. Jim, as you provided the patch at http://archives.linuxfromscratch.org/mail-archives/lfs-dev/2004-July/047121.html, could you comment on why those curly braces were added? Thanks.
