The build I did on the Bug Hunt Day (which should be a bi-monthly celebration) did not have a wrong /tmp. Well, I did not compile a kernel, did not boot it, and did not compile networking. So if you want to narrow your search, I can testify that no package in 5 or 6 changes the modes of /tmp.

Invalid bug. I have built two LFS systems recently, neither changed the mode of the tmp directory. Conclusion:i did something wrong when I encountered the problem.
