I actually think we should use it, if only because parts of iproute2 tie in closely to the kernel and this release is based on 2.6.22. But I don't feel that strongly about it. I poked the maintainer. We'll see if anything happens:

FWIW, I regenerated the tarball to untar to a subdirectory. That version passes a build and boot test, so if upstream release a fixed up tarball, we should be OK to upgrade for 6.3.
I'll tackle this as you don't mind, simply because I've got the patch already here and it touches a bit more than just the package.ent file.

The packaging is a show stopper for us. The updates in the package are not critical. Wait for the next release.
If something comes up that it is critical, reopen the ticket and target it to the LFS 7.0 milestone.
This version hasn't been packaged correctly. There's no top-level iproute2-$VERSION directory, meaning things untar into the current working directory. e.g:
cd /sources tar xf iproute2-2.6.22070710.tar.gz
results in:
/sources/{doc,ip,tc}
I suggest we skip this release, as it'll require temporary hacks in jhalfs and other people's scripts.
