Description
This is now the recommended replacement for ifconfig (I think). It was certainly recommended to be on LKML today
ftp://ftp.inr.ac.ru/ip-routing/
Let's investigate it and see if it can replace the old netkit-base package

Changing priority to P5. ifconfig will work just fine for now. Let's concentrate on the other issues at hand first.

Essentially, the pkg is considered more of a BLFS type package to complement existing networking tools rather than a direct replacement. Closing.

Apparently more details on the use of iproute2 are available in the advanced routing howto. I have't had a chance to check yet though
