The official download location for mawk still is:

​ftp://ftp.whidbey.net/pub/brennan/

It doesn't exist anymore though. Please remember that mawk has been last updated 6 (!) years ago. Mawk is dead, it's finished and the remaining bugs will never be fixed. Therefore, there is no primary download location or homepage for mawk. There are a few ftp servers left (like the link in the previous comment) that still contain the mawk sources, but they will never ever get anymore updates. I suggest we keep the current download location but add (dead) or (broken) after it.

actually, to add to this discussion, I did try and contact the mawk maintainer when Jason and me were working on fixing up gpm to work with mawk. I wanted to ask the maintainer about a bug in the regex handling mawk does. He never responded and linked to the lack of the download location; I have to agree that mawk appears to be dead.

The new download location is not official, therefore we shouldn't change it.
