If this is for informational purposes (educational), then I'm all for it. But, otherwise it's like asking the reader to do what we've already said is necessary. To quote:

"In order for certain programs to function properly, the proc file system must be available within the chroot'ed environment."

That seems self-explanatory to me, but a warning like "If you exit chroot later, you'll need to remount proc before proceeding." used to be in the book before keep-5-6-sep was integrated, IIRC.

I just built a complete system without mounting proc. Nothing seemed to "require" proc (except for the page on which we create the /etc/mtab symlink).

I'm setting this up to P-1 - I think putting a quick note in chapter 6 when we mount proc to remind people that if they stop and resume, they should make sure proc is still mounted might be warranted. I'll throw out some discussion on this on LFS-Dev.
