Description
- it has a much smaller footprint: 81 KB size / 1.4 MB disk space / 0.1 SBU vs. 1,892 KB size / 31 MB disk space / 0.4 SBU
- it's actively developed
- I'm using it in my latest LFS/BLFS build, didn't encounter any problems whatsoever

I am very reluctant to change something that is currently working quite well. A search shows that FreeBSD is converting, but I don't know of any general linux distros that have made the switch.
Build time for pkg-config for me is 38 seconds, and I feel the disk space difference is negligible.
Likewise, I can't see a compelling argument for changing to pkgconf at this time.
