    3 I introduced the unreviewed change early because I'm really annoyed by the frequency of breaking changes in pkgconf, **and the stupidly slowness they respond to them** (the issue has been opened 3 days w/o even a reply!)  If they just keep being such annoying I think we should revert back to pkg-config.
