Description
PPC requires GCC 3.4.0 or greater to build NPTL. That needs to be mentioned in the 6.0 branch before release.

next release version will be 3.4.x, so this bug is moot at this point.

Matt wants to try to get gcc 3.4.1 into 6.0 now, so that would make this entry moot. Will leave it open until that actually happens
