Description
<snip> The lfs_next_to_existing_systems hint was written to overcome this problem, but unfortunately it was hackish, required modifications to fstab and the bootscripts and was overall not very newbie-friendly. The LFS book's section 2.2 describes the old hint quite accurately as "advanced procedure [that] is not recommended for your first LFS installation,". Unfortunately, as said in the beginning, the first LFS installation is probably when you need the hint most.
Fortunately, the Note in section 2.2 is no longer accurate. In fact it could be no further from the truth. The lfs_next_... has been rewritten from scratch. It is now simple, safe and newbie-friendly. It's the perfect way for first-timers to get started with LFS without having to deal with the dangers and difficulties of re-partitioning a hard disk. The text of 2.2 should be changed to reflect this. I suggest to replace the paragraph and the Note box with the following text: <snip>
