But they passed in a X environment started with startx from xinit (with twm), on my system...

And it is break by mesa-20.0.0, patch needed: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/870.patch

(But we'll upgrade to mutter-3.36 in 9.2, anyway...)
