Version bump :-)
And something considered 'Important': http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2005-810.html This relates to this bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=171071 Which is fixed in 2.8.7: http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtk%2B/gdk-pixbuf/io-xpm.c?r1=1.49&r2=1.49.2.1
The other bug mentioned in the RH advisory is already fixed.
I am compiling 2.8.7 now to see if anything unexpected happens.

BLFS has been updated to GTK+-2.8.9. Closing the bug as fixed.
