Description ¶
After the enormous process of compiling KDElibs & KDEbase and adding "exec startkde" to ~/.xinitrc and running the startx script, the user would get a grey screen with the mouse cursor, the kde splash screen and then... nothing.
This is due to the lack of existence of KDEDIR variable pointing to the path where KDE is installed.
It's solved adding $KDEDIR=$KDE_PREFIX to /etc/profile or somewhere in /etc/profile.d (maybe /etc/profile.d/X.sh)
