For the description of the problem, see NautilusCdBurner and Cdrtools
Please apply at least the mkisofs iconv patch to the cdrtools in the book in order to eliminate this broken dependency. The patch is present in all distros.

If there is *any* chance that applying the patch could be less than 100% legal, or rephrased, if there is *any* chance that applying the patch could be in vioation of the GPL, I wouldn't do it. A mention on the Cdrtools and Nautilus CD Burner pages to visit the wiki for important information about certain locales seems sufficient.
What Redhat does is of no concern of ours, nor should what they do have any effect on our decisions. However, Bruce should probably be the one to make the final say.
I already have the patched cdrtools and nautilus-cd-burner. I'll run a test with non-ASCII filenames, etc., and try to get the iconv patch in the book.
Would another editor look at Cdrtools and read the part about violating the GPL? This applies to the first patch on that page. I don't have a problem applying the patch, but want to know what other think.
