I built it without problems a week or so ago. Sorry about not opening a ticket. Another point of note is that the help system now uses your web browser by default. However, the default web-browser is mozilla. Easily set in gimprc.

/etc/gimp/2.0/gimprc:
# Sets the browser used by the help system.  Possible values are gimp and
# web-browser.
#
# (help-browser web-browser)

# Sets the external web browser to be used.  This can be an absolute path or
# the name of an executable to search for in the user's PATH. If the command
