Description ¶
From Ken on blfs-dev:
A few days ago somebody on a TL list reported that printing with LuaLaTeX was now proken, although apparently working in pdflatex. I was able to point him to a similar issue at Arch (he was on Endeavor and did not know when printing had lst worked). Turns out this is a Cairo-1.18.2 problem, and there is now a patch. See the end of https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/cairo/-/issues/2 where the patch has been tested but could not be uploaded to Arch because of perms. I'm merely reporting this because I don't yet have a 12.2 system, which anyway would still be on 1.18.0, and nor do I have a printer. But ISTR that one editor uses LuaLaTeX and might perhaps have a need for hardcopy at some point. ĸen
Note that this seems to affect Evince as well when printing certain PDFs. The error message shows up as "universal filter failed"

I do use lualatex but I don't use cups (when I need to print something I copy it to the Windoge machine in the office...)
