Description
Sorry if this is trivial, but reading the text on the nfs-utils page, there is something I don't understand. And I make a ticket, because the page as already been tagged.
We have a note saying:
In BLFS we assume that nfs v3 will be used...
and also in configure:
... --disable-nfsv4 ...
then in Systemd Units:
make install-nfsv4-server
and furthermore:
If you have disabled NFSv4 support, run the following command as the root user to omit the NFSv4 specific systemd units: make install-nfs-server
So, all in all, do we use NFSv4 or not???

I think we can update nfs-utils. It is basically an end-package although we to reference it as optional in autofs.
I have only tested the nfs-utils as a client for the current build and use v3. This is what Google says:
NFSv3 is a faster, stateless, and simpler protocol ideal for legacy systems and high-performance VMware environments. NFSv4 is a stateful, secure protocol (supporting ACLs and Kerberos) that uses a single TCP port (2049) for easier firewall traversal. Choose NFSv4 for improved security and modern networking; choose v3 for maximum throughput in trusted environments.
To me, using v4 is an advance exercise for users and configuration details need not be in the book. There can be some statements to that effect though.

This is a bit of a complicated one. I've personally never used it, but the page for NFS in systemd was designed by Armin and DJ to use NFSv4 by default.
We do by default install the NFSv4 units. However, we also pass --disable-nfsv4.
I agree that this is contradictory and that we need to do something here.
We should document --disable-nfsv4, but we need to determine whether or not we want to keep supporting the nfsv4-server units or just tell users to install nfs-server instead.

Fixed at commit 28db608742.
Added text changes to clarify the disable-nfsv4 options.

Note that there is nothing about the
--disable-nfsv4switch in command explanations.
